On Tuesday, August 16 the WVFC had just arrived to assist Western Berks EMS for a medical call in Heidelberg Twp. when a brush fire was dispatched at 3880 N. Church St. also in the township.

Engine 47 cleared from the call upon the arrival of EMS and along with Tanker 47 arrived on scene with a controlled burn that extended into a tree line. Volunteers stretched the booster line and trash line from E47 and received assistance from the property owner with the removal of a tree damaged by fire which had to be cut down and extinguished.
