This morning the WVFC received notification that a Regional Hose/Nozzles/Appliances Assistance to Firefighters Grant we were apart of has been approved for funding! The grant was hosted by the Quakertown Fire Department in Bucks County. The other regional partners were the Shillington and Central Berks Fire Co. (Centerport).

The overall approved award budget is $332,582.00. Our portion of the award is $42,625 of which we are responsible for 5% or $3,876

This funding will allow us to replace all our 5" large diameter hose, and portions of our 3", 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" hose, 7 nozzles, and purchase stream shapers and shut offs for the deck guns on our engine and ladder.

We'd like to thank our grant writer Bill Van Etten for his assistance and expertise , the Quakertown Fire Dept. for hosting the project, as well as FEMA and our congressional representatives for continuing to provide funding for this highly competitive grant program.

The WVFC has benefited greatly from this program over the years receiving 10 awards and over $1.5 million dollars in funding for various equipment and regional projects.
