The past few days the WVFC continues to be busy including 4 calls on Christmas Day.

752pm - Assisted the Newmanstown FC with a vehicle accident with entrapment at N. Ft. Zellers Rd & Kalbach Rd. in Millcreek Twp. Shortly after Engine 47 arrived on scene, it was reassigned to establish a landing zone at the Hurst Airport on S. Sheridan Rd. along with Attack 47. EMS requested a medical helicopter from WellSpan WellFlight for the patient. A second medical helicopter was also requested for a surgical team from Life Lion Critical Care from the Hershey Medical Center however they were cancelled while flying to the scene. The patient was extricated nearly an hour after the initial dispatch and transported to the landing zone by Newmanstown Ambulance Corps, where WVFC volunteers assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter where they were transported to a local trauma center.

1017am - House Fire @ 21 N. 2nd St. - Womelsdorf. Neighbor reported an odor of smoke from an attached duplex. Engine 47 arrived and found burnt food on the stove and the assignment was held to 47 and Lebanon 34.

1203pm - HazMat @ 11 Begonia Ct. - Marion Twp. Engine and Ladder 47 assisted the Marion FC with an odor of gas inside a home after EMS arrived on scene for a prior call. Assisted with metering the home.

148pm - House Fire @ 20 S. Water St. - Womelsdorf. Upon arrival Chief 47 found a malfunctioning stove and held the assignment to the WVFC.

228pm - Initially dispatched to assist EMS with an unconscious subject but arrived on scene to with a subject in a cardiac arrest.
