Today at 245pm, the Robesonia and Womelsdorf Fire Companies were dispatched to the area of Bernville Rd. and Bunker Hill Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. for a brush fire.

Deputy 26 arrived on scene with a working brush fire rapidly spreading throughout the woods. Attack, Tanker, and Engine 47 arrived on scene and Attack and Tanker 47 were assigned with Brush 26 to prevent the fire from spreading while Engine 47 assisted from the road extinguishing the fire along with Engine and Tanker 26.

Additional resources including ATV 30 from the Mt. Pleasant Fire Co. and crews from the Hamburg Forest Fire Crew (Co.82) were called to assist with overhaul. Approximately an acre of area burned before the fire was placed under control. Crews were on scene for about 2 hours.
